Join us as the Wichita City Council officially proclaims October 2025 as Walktober! This special recognition highlights the importance of walking for health, wellness, and community connection. The proclamation celebrates Wichita’s commitment to creating a more active, walkable city and encourages residents to take part in Walktober activities throughout the month.

Walktober began in 2008 through the Sedgwick County Health Department and has since grown into a community-wide initiative powered by partners across the city. By participating in group walks, tracking daily activity, and embracing the spirit of Walktober, residents can improve personal health, foster social connections, and contribute to a healthier, more sustainable Wichita.
