GEARED FOR WHAT'S NEXT
As I reflect on nearly a year as Executive Director of this incredible nonprofit, I’m often surprised by how many people in our community still haven’t heard of Bike Walk Wichita. When they do learn about us, one of the first questions they ask is, “What’s Bike Walk Wichita really about?”
Our response to that question is this: We aim to ensure that everyone in our city can move through life safely, freely, and joyfully. Whether you’re commuting to work, chasing your kids on a trail, or leading change in your neighborhood, we’re here to support you. Everyone reaches a better destination when our city moves with intention.
We do this through Participation, Advocacy, Collaboration, and Education (PACE). These four pillars guide how we engage with the community, shape our programs, and inform how we push for progress.

We move Wichita forward, one step and pedal stroke at a time, while staying focused on our PACE.
We host programs that empower participants to gain mobility and independence. We advocate for infrastructure that prioritizes safety and accessibility. We collaborate with schools, neighborhoods, and organizations to bring active transportation to life. We educate our community, including youth, on how to confidently and safely navigate our city.
It’s more than just movement — it’s about momentum. Every repaired bike, every walk audit, every community ride, and public comment adds up. We believe streets are for people, and that equity in transportation is a vital part of a thriving, connected city. At Bike Walk Wichita, we collaborate with residents, partners, and policymakers to ensure that all voices are heard and every neighborhood is considered.
This work doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when people like you care about making Wichita better, not just for today, but for a brighter future for all. What fuels Bike Walk Wichita? It’s people. It’s purpose. And it’s endless possibilities.
